January Love 2013

Jan 2013

Finally managed to get a taste of my very first box of macarons from Laduree in Hong Kong, thanks to my dearest BFF who surprised me with them one night. You should had heard my “omg” shriek, hehe. Catching up with a good friend over red velvet cupcake and a mocha at Brick Lane after a very filling Shanghainese dinner. Adding some nail fun with my new American Apparel nail polishes to kick off those cold winter days. Love the golden “Meteor Shower” glitter nail polish!

Walked passed Harvey Nichols whilst taking a walk during lunch hours, and was in love with this gorgeous giant Miss Dior perfume shown on their window display. Stocked up on some crafty decorative tapes to add onto my stationary collection. Finally got my lovely and fave Chloe eau de parfum back in my perfume collection and oh my, how i have missed you sooo dearly. You will always be my fave.

Last min shopping spree and got this golden snake necklace and leopard peplum top for my company annual safari themed dinner party, where i was MC’ing away in Ms. Leopard style. Received these ever as cute flower balloons from a colleague who was leaving our company, such a sweet gesture. Celebrated a good old friend’s belated 30th birthday and enjoyed a “Fallen Angel Chocolate Bath” dessert, which was a chocolate cake with whipped cream and a shot of espresso to pour over it, super delish!

I am blessed for each and every day that was filled with love, fun, laughters, and sharing special moments with people i love and care for. You are my January Love 2013.

Elle x Chloe

Every now and then i will go down to my local convenience store to pick up some fashion magazines. Unfortunately the area where i live only provide fashion magazines in Chinese versions, and while i can’t really read Chinese (but looking at the fashionable images makes up for that!), it comes down a lot cheaper in comparison to the English versions.

So there i was, on a Sunday afternoon, standing at my local convenience store for probably 15 minutes  deciding on what fashion magazine would be the best deal and that’s when i spotted the March issue of Elle.  Now it’s not that i normally get the Chinese Elle issue but much to my surprise and delight, they were giving a free Elle x Chloe diary book!!! Of course,  i could not turn down such a lovely offer as that would just be plain rude, right? Yes, i suppose i do tend to get sucked into these marketing gemicks for those that know me oh too well, and it’s soooo bad! But what else is a girl who has a love for fashion, suppose to do? lol.

The gorgeous Chinese woman on the cover of the magazine is Sandy Lam who is a very talented singer in Hong Kong, and she has been in the music industry since the 1980’s. Yes, she still looks gorgeous and youthful eh?

One of the things that i really like about Chinese fashion magazines over here is that they come along with other magazines as well. For Elle, it comes with 2 other magazines where one is based on beauty and health and the other one is based on shopping, while the main magazine is purely fashion.

If you want the Elle x Chloe diary book as much as i do and you live in Hong Kong, you better go and check it out now!!!

Bag it to me

I have recently been thinking about getting a designer brand bag but i can’t seem to figure out what to go for. You would think i’m trying to look for Mr. Right at this rate i’m going. I guess we just want to find the best, be it quality or price (only that men don’t have a price on them or do they? lol) . Anyway, so my first options that came straight to mind were LV and Gucci but that seemed abit too commercial and boring. I was talking to a friend the other day and she suggested Chloe and quite honestly, i never really noticed their bags for some reason. I quickly googled these goodies online and was quite pleased with what i saw. Their style is stylish and modern but not too flashy, which is exactly what i’m looking for. It’s not too much to ask for a bag that is durable and practical or just simply timeless, right? Lets just hope  i will be able to find my “it” bag before i go to London (fingers crossed). With so many Chloe bags available in the market, i decided to start by sharing with you on a few selections that i have in mind. Hopefully this will narrow down my bag search dilemma.

 Paraty medium python bag, $3,825
