Little treasures from New York…

For those that know me well, will be very familiar  with how i get excited when i get surprises when least expected, and that is what just happened before i got off work last week. My BFF in New York was a real sweet heart and had gotten me some lovely goodies for my belated 30th birthday and Christmas gift. Her mom had recently gone to New York to visit her and her recent born grandson, Jonathan, who is my ever as cute godson, and had been requested by my BFF to deliver the goods to me in person. That’s when i got a call and auntie was at the door of my office with the bag of goodies. If you are reading this, my BFF, i love you girl!!!

I remember my very first trip to the states in New York back in 2008, where i fell in love with Bath & Body Works, an American skin care brand. Fast forward 5 years later, BFF is ever as sweet and remembers my love for this brand. Although my love for Bath & Body Works isn’t as crazy as before, surely one should not decline gorgeous looking beauty products, right? There were 2 shower gels that came in the flavors of sun ripened raspberry and cucmber melon, which reminds me of the summer times. I absolutely adore the cute mini anti-bacterial hand gels, and they are the perfect size to put into my bag. Japanese Cherry Blossom is my favorite.

On my lazy days, when i don’t have time or patience to glam up, i always find spraying on a fave perfume or applying a tint of lip gloss is all it takes to feel dolled up without much effort. This is when less is more fits my agenda, where i go for the casual look. So i was very much amused when i found out that BFF had gotten me a multi functional cosmetic piece to add to my collection.  This special make up kit is a wand that has a pink lip gloss on one end and a lovely summery roll on perfume on the other end. Two things in one, it’s the perfect gift for a busy lady like me that always rushes to work every morning. The AVOCA soap bar is an additional piece i added because i felt that it completed the entire look with the whole pink color scheme going on in the photo. I actually bought this soap during my trip to Wicklow in Ireland three years ago. I still haven’t had the heart to use this soap because it just looks too pretty and still smells ever as lovely as the day i bought it. 

One of my fave gifts to receive are jewelries as it can hold sentimental values, where memories are embedded of that certain moment or special person, and a valuable to be kept forever. You can say i’m more of the sappy type, if you like. For my belated birthday gift, BFF got me this gorgeous Swarovski crystal necklace. The simple and elegant design of this gem is very close to my usual style in jewelry, and the size is perfect for me.

Gift Giveaway: Color blocking, pouty lips, and Paris coming your way!!!

With the time getting closer to the final count down for my gift giveaway, i thought this would be a great time to reveal the surprise, and present the final two gifts.

I got this really summery color blocking nail polish set in 3 vibrant colors from the Japanese brand “Beauty World”, which is a perfect way to flaunt your nails during the summer times. This is definitely a fun way to give your nails a new make over to welcome the warmer seasons! There are also images at the back to give you some nail design inspirations and  stickers are provided so you can design your color blocking nails in different ways.

To give more pout to your lovely lips, I’m also giving away this gorgeous lip gloss from the Japanese brand, Majolica Majorca. I know the color may look  like a deep bronzey color  in the photo above but it actually has a slight nude tone to it, along with a tint of shimmer.  I’ve tried the sample and it’s quite a natural color so it’s pretty versatile for all skin types. Plus it’s a great size to carry in your bag  if you want a quick touch up and freshen those tired lips at the end of the day.

Girls just wanna have fun!

Wow, it’s been quite a while since i’ve updated and i am so sorry about that! I guess that means i have a life? lol. But i honestly did have a super busy schedule that was filled up with lovely dates for the past 2 weeks, it was just crazy!

However, I did have a fab shopping spree with my friend last week and got some great products! I was introduced to this USDA organic brand at the cosmetic counter named Juice Beauty and so i went to try on their stuff. I guess the word organic got my attention,lol.  I’ve been looking for a lip balm again and so i tried their lip moisturizer which is really nice! It smells citrusey and orangey and most importantly, makes my lips moist and gives a shiny glow, just like lipgloss! An 2 in 1 function product, it was a bargain for sure!!! I also bought their Organic Facial Rejuvenating Mask, Antioxidant Serum, and Stem Celluar Repair Moisturizer. I would highly recommend the serum. It smells citrusey and my face feels all rejuvenated after using it for just a week. Plus, it leaves my face feeling sooo fresh and this happens every time when i apply it (day or night!)!!! 

I was told the face moisturizer (Stem Celluar Repair Moisturizer) is for a 4 weeks facial program to help improve cellular production and after that, you can just use your normal face cream . It smells really citrusey as well and like the serum, it makes my face feel all freshen up!!! I have yet to try their face mask but i will defo update you all on this product too. Please feel free to let me know if you have had any good or bad experiences with this brand because i would love to know!

I got a bit carried away with shopping and before you know it, i was standing at the YSL cosmetic counter the next day, and i had just got off work too! Shopping addiction alert!!! Anyway, i bought 2 mascaras, one for lengthening and the other for volumizing. I have to say, my lashes defo stands and stays up like magic!!! There is just one problem and that is the wand for the volumizing mascara already started getting really clumpy after using it for the first time. I’m not sure if that is how YSL mascaras works but it was just odd for me. But I wouldn’t mind getting their lengthening mascara again!!!

My friend bought like 5 products and so we both got some lovely freebies! I don’t know about in other countries but you tend to get a lot of freebies when you shop in Hong Kong. One of their freeebies is the Baby Doll perfume and i absolutely adore it! The smell is light and feminine and the bottle is in a lovely diamond shape.

I’ve also desperately been looking for a nice lipgloss to replace my old but lovely Becca (Champagne) lipgloss.I ended up getting Dior Pink Veil (#654) from their Spring 2011 collection, and it’s just what i was looking for! The lipgloss looks really pink but it carries a relatively natural color  with a tint of pink, which is just perfect for the summer! I say go get it and get some glossy lips ladies:)
